Biography
Carlos
Vives Restrepo was born on August, 1961 in Santa Marta-Magdalena, Colombia. He
is a famous Colombian pop singer, composer and actor. When he was a child, he
lived in Santa Marta with his parents during 12 years. He moved to Bogotá with
his family in order to find better opportunities to study.
Carlos loved music since he was a child, and started singing in bars and
coffee shops. This amazing singer is recognized around South America due to his
own style of music. He likes to mix popular rhythms from Colombia like
Vallenato and Cumbia with Pop and Rock music. He has won two Grammy Awards and
he has been winner of Latin Grammy Awards nine time.
He started his carrier as and actor in 1982, after his work in a
magazine T called “Little Giants", and played excellent characters in
different soap operas in which to reached fame in 1986. By that time, he
released his first album too, that it called “Por Fuera y Por Dentro” which
were ballads. Unfortunately, this first album, failed to achieve any success.
In addition, Carlos Vives fell in love and he married with Margarita
Rosa De Francisco in 1988. She was your first wife. She is an actress too, and
four years later, they broke up their relationship. After that, He married Herlinda
Gómez and was his second wife whom had two children. Carlos Enrique Vives and Lucía
Vives, Later, they divorced. Actually, He is married to Miss Colombia, her name
is Claudia Elena Vásquez. They have two children, Elena Vives and Pedro Vives.
Carlos spends his time between Miami and Colombia, mainly Santa Marta and
Bogotá due to his family and work.
There is something very important to highlight
in Carlos’ life. It is his role as an actor in a famous Colombian series based
on Rafael Escalona life. Escalona was one of the most popular composers from
Vallenato music. He was an icon of Colombian music, for that reason, it was an
achievement for Carlos Vives to performance the principal character. Also, this
job changed his life forever because Carlos took advantage of this kind of
music to enrich his own music style.
Finally, there are some current achievements for this Colombian Singer.
His participation in the reality called "La Voz Colombia" and his new
hit called "Nota De Amor" which sings with two famous singers, Daddy
Yankee and Wisin. They are icons from Reggaetton music. I would like to invite
